AAUW Speakers Series: Post-Racial Post Mortems, by Prof. Linus Owens

[ezcol_1third]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]Post-Racial Post Mortems, by Linus Owens, Associate Professor of Sociology, Middlebury College. The 2008 election of Barack Obama was supposed to mark the triumphant conclusion to America’s racial history, a moment ushering in a post-racial future. Today, it feels like we’ve never been further apart on issues of race in America. While this may seem a betrayal of our post-racial dreams, this talk shows how the post-racial was never the solution but was actually one of the key problems that brought us to this place. We will explore issues of polarization, both between political factions and between beliefs and actions.. Recorded  3/16/21. [/ezcol_2third_end][ezcol_1third] Producer: MCTV
