A rich, emotional roller coaster of an event, in which reputations were both secured and shattered – acts of phenomenal heroism were displayed as well as acts of rampant piracy. A thrill-saturated, heart-pounding demonstration of engineering prowess, stirring teamwork and awe-inspiring athleticism – with some sensational sinkings to boot.
