The owner of Caroline’s Dream, a local handcrafted skincare product
business, and the Director of the Addison County Economic Development
Corporation collaborate in this wonderful show about community-oriented
entrepreneurship and a revolutionary approach to business funding. Susan
talks about her paleo-friendly, locally-rooted business model. She
introduces her Yuba delivery bicycle (a truly magnificent specimen),
partially funded through a Clean-Energy Grant awarded by the ACEDC. These
engrossing and articulate women go on to explain how Caroline’s Dream is
planning to expand through a Kiva Zip loan – an innovative funding
mechanism poised to transform small business lending and the fabric of
economic development.

Middlebury Five-O: Bryan Alexander

[ezcol_1third]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]An intellectual roller-coaster of a show, sweeping with breathtaking velocity through such divergent topics as the correlation between beards and airport security searches, and the overwhelming significance of the French Revolution. Bryan’s incredible breadth of thought shines through – along with his sparkling wit, and shimmering charm – as he describes his vision of technology and teaching, in this conversation that is by turns powerful, challenging and deeply inspiring. Middlebury Five-O: Bruce Lisman

[ezcol_1third]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end]A charming and poignant interview with Gubernatorial hopeful, Bruce Lisman. Bruce talks about his candidacy, inspired by a strong sense that the State has been moving in the wrong direction politically, embracing misguided policies and spending irresponsibly. He discusses his vision for economic development, supporting local businesses with roots in the communities. Bruce stresses his background as a native Vermonter and business owner, and he highlights the values he would bring to the office, all the time conveying his candid warmth and good humor.

MUMS: Big Change Roundup Final Assembly 3/4/16

[ezcol_1third]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end] MUMS students and faculty joined together to celebrate the successful conclusion of the Big Change Roundup, raising over $2200 for the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. The students vastly exceeded their initial goal, and the assembly features faculty acts performed as rewards for meeting certain fundraising goals. The finale of principals Patrick Reen and Scott Sivo lip synching to Taylor Swift should go down in history. For what, we’re not quite sure, but it’s certainly hysterical, historical, that is. Recorded 3/4/16.

Middlebury Five-O: Kurt Broderson

[ezcol_1third]

[/ezcol_1third] [ezcol_2third_end] A rip-roaring, exhilarating interview with MCTV’s Technology Coordinator, Kurt Broderson (rather convincingly masquerading as Indiana Jones – it’s all about the hat). Kurt talks with characteristic flair and good humor about a recent project, a feature length crowd-sourced remake of the cinematic classic, Raiders of the Lost Ark, which will receive a red carpet, gala screening at Middlebury’s Marquis Theater on March 16th. Kurt also touches upon his work with MCTV and Ilsley library, conducting media workshops for children and youth, helping them acquire essential skills and introducing them to new modes of self-expression.
