The Town of Middlebury is working with consultant TPUDC to explore transit-oriented development potential here in Middlebury, including take a look at the development potential of several large parcels in the vicinity of the Amtrak Rail platform downtown.
This planning exercise will move us closer to the goal of adding more compact multi-story mixed-use development in the downtown area, walkable to services and transit! Public input is being sought as the consultant starts the process of creating of:
– an illustrative master plan for the area, and
– draft municipal bylaws making it easier to accommodate these more urban-style forms of development in areas central to downtown, using character districts calibrated to produce context-sensitive designs.
In 2022, the Vermont Legislature passed Act 167, which called for healthcare delivery reform in Vermont. A central part of this legislation is developing community- and data-informed options to transform Vermont’s healthcare system that improve access, affordability, quality and sustainability.
Based on input from last fall’s community meetings and robust data analysis, the Green Mountain Care Board has determined that it is time for a second round of community meetings held in person across the state to discuss the findings and options for health system transformation. More information about the project and work to date can be found at gmcboard.vermont.gov/Act-167-Community-Meetings#Past.
